Street Art Auctions

Many groups in Ulster County sponsor street art created by local artists to bring attention to an aspect of local significance or history. Saugerties has had lighthouses and horses, now rocking horses. Esopus has tugboats. Kingston raised funds for a playground with peacocks painted in riotous colors. Town of Lloyd’s Historical Society is going to be doing trolleys for 2018. All these objects get auctioned off after one season on the streets to raise funds.

Trolley Art

2019 Call for Artists. All aboard! The Town of Lloyd Historical Preservation Society is celebrating the town’s trolley heritage with a street art project of inspired trolleys. Trolleys are in the station awaiting sponsors and artists. Sponsors can design their own trolley or can choose an artist’s design. Please consult our website to download sponsorship form and artist contract.

The real trolleys ran between the Hudson and Wallkill Rivers, making it the only “inter-city” trolley in Ulster County.
